On the 22nd of January 2019, the Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria through the Nigeria Health Innovation Marketplace conducted the Symposium on Routine Immunisation(RI) themed, Catalysing Innovations in Routine Immunisation for Scale. The symposium built on the gains of the marketplace and initiated the preliminary plan of identifying promising innovations around Routine Immunisation.
The primary goal of the workshop was to bring together various stakeholders- public and private sector members as well as technical partners in the Routine Immunisation ecosystem to:
- Explore the Routine Immunisation landscape – Highlighting the gains and challenges that will serve as key drivers to source for innovations in the next Health Innovation Challenge
- Constitute an advisory committee with representatives of key stakeholders to support the selection and adoption of promising innovations
The 4-hour symposium had in attendance several public and private sector players including representatives from the government such as FMoH, private sector such as SANOFI, Facebook, GE, Solina Health and many others. The findings and discussions from the workshop session of the symposium will form part of the problem statements for the next Health Innovation Challenge which will occur later in the year.
