2018 Global Hackathon Series
In partnership with AngelHack, PHN hosted the 2018 Global Hackathon Series in Lagos. This was a competitive process to identify and invest in disruptive digital health innovations that can address issues with low card retention and immunisation record keeping for health facilities
2018 Theme: Seamless Technology
Health Challenge: Build technology that can that can address issues with low card retention and immunisation record keeping for health facilities
Health Award Prize: N1,000,000 fund + mentorship sessions
Immunobase: Built an innovation to improve immunisation records by implementing biometrics as a unique identifier and a blockchain solution to hold medical records. (the blockchain component works so that every immunisation is signed as a transaction for proper record verification, audit and is sharable.
Phalanx: Is a biometric-enabled medical record keeping platform using mobile device to collate immunisation data for patients. The innovation also includes a USSD accessible system to capture patient details from non-smartphones.
Central Immunisation Management System: A card-less immunisation management system that leverages different technology platforms (USSD,android mobile, web) to electronically capture, record, update and retrieve immunization records (regardless of internet connectivity). It uses a unique system of identification- mother’s phone number and position of a child in a family (e.g 0811387165101). It also provides customised SMS services to mothers serving as immunisation reminders.
